Anonymous asked: any tips for someone trying to start their own webcomic? ^^
Oh hello there! :) I suppose there are a few things I know that would help somebody starting out!
- Planning is everything! - And not just planning your story, planning where you’d like to take the project as well! Would you like to publish it in print one day? Then make sure you start your pages using the proper resolution :). Outline the entire story and even write the whole script before starting. Make storyboads of complete chapters before even making proper pages. The more planning you do, the easier it will be for you while you’re producing pages!
- That being said, don’t hesitate with your plans otherwise your project will never get off the ground! Plan and work at the whole of your comic as much as you can, and once you’re satisfied, get straight to it and just draw. You’ll never learn anything unless you just go ahead and dive straight in!
- Don’t be afraid of ambitious scenes! We all have to start somewhere, and if a sequence is giving you trouble, just keep at it, because once you get it, you will have learned a lot! Just never be afraid to go forth with your ideas, and if your readers have some constructive feedback for you, all the better for future elaborate scenes!
- Have a stockpile of pages! - Before I started posting Aurora, I had 54 pages done, which was able to get me through 5 months of updates. It may seem like a lot, but if you have that many pages before you even begin posting, you’ll have time after the debut to draw special promotional art, or even take a break if life gets too stressful. Of course don’t forget to go back and restock when the time comes :)
I hope that helps a bit :) To sum up, make goals, plan ahead, always have a stockpile of pages ready to go and be fearless! The only way to learn is by doing, so even if your first webcomic starts off rocky, you can bet that your second webcomic will be much more fantastic, or you could even re-do the first! Good luck, and please link me your webpage when you start posting! :)

My boyfriend suggested some FF:Crystal Chronicles fanart today because we both couldn’t stop listening to the OST. So this quick doodle came from said suggestion! These were the characters we used when we first played together :)

I drew this knight as a celebration for my hand getting better! Hopefully I won’t sprain my hand again while drawing for the new portfolio :c
I rarely post any of the animation I do, which is funny considering it’s my job, but I guess I’m mostly doing stuff for work all the time. I’m trying to change that and animate some stuff for myself for a change, starting with these rough plans that I’ll eventually turn into an actual pencil test, and then hopefully a cleaned and coloured animation.
I hope to post more!

I needed to get my hand into some digital painting again, so I ended up painting Michonne from the Walking Dead. She’s such an amazing character <3.

Seems like I haven’t updated my sketch blog in a while! I don’t really get to do much more than comic sketches and gesture practices these days, but I’ll try to update here more. Starting with this comic illustrating what happens each time I take my laundry out of the dryer. Speaks for itself I think!
Aurora: The Webcomic, continues to update as chapter one reaches its midpoint! Don’t miss the development as we build up to the biggest event in Rusko village’s history!
Also, don’t be shy to leave a comment on the site to let me know that you’ve read c: I like meeting the people who support me even if it’s only by clicking on the website twice a week!
